Huge shoutout to my Mum for coming with me to Sydney on a recent Pit & Seat business trip and helping. Was a huge help and couldn't have done it on my own.
The purpose of the trip was to update our existing BBQ stock in our Sydney warehouse to ensure full compliance with Australian Gas Association (AGA) certification requirements.
This involved a number of upgrades, included:
New grill and hot plate design
Smaller jets to reduce the flame size (from around 2.4mm to 1.5mm)
Updated coloured warning labels
Revised instruction manuals.
Shorter gas hose from 3m to 1.5m long.
It was a big few days getting everything sorted, hands were sore and backs were shot, but well worth it, we’ve now got a much better and fully compliant product.
We also made the most of the trip and ticked off a couple of bucket list items, including visiting the Sydney Opera House and seeing The Great Gatsby, which I’d highly recommend.
We’re planning to head back to Sydney in the next six weeks to complete the remaining stock updates. Once that’s done, everything will be ready to go until our next shipment arrives from the manufacturer and we won’t need to go through these changes again.
Thanks again Mum for coming along, I’ll be bringing you back next time… and maybe Dad too.
Thanks,
Jeff kendall
